a week of Christ-centered activities
Love to the uttermost devotional book
handout and guidelines:
DAY 0 - SUNDAY, APRIL 14
DOWNLOAD the devotional book “LOVE TO THE UTTERMOST”.
READ through the prologue “A Vision for Holy week” and “Seeing the King on Palm Sunday”
day 1 - monday, april 15
READ through the devotional “He Set His Face for Jerusalem"
SUGGESTED ACTIVITY: [before or after your reading] Take a prayer walk around your neighborhood/school/campus. The idea is to go somewhere to pray specifically for the people and families whom you meet and the homes and businesses you pass by as you walk.
Before the prayer walk, plan the place and time you want to go. When you arrive, ask God to open your eyes to the needs of the people there and help you pray more specifically and earnestly for those needs.
day 2 - tuesday, april 16:
READ through the devotional “Depth of Love for Us"
SUGGESTED ACTIVITY: Fasting is one of the most powerful spiritual disciplines of all the Christian disciplines. It is a way to align our hearts with the psalmist, “My soul thirsts for God, the living God” (Psalm 42:2). “It’s a means of God’s grace to strengthen and sharpen our Godward affections,” writes David Mathis in his book, Habits of Grace.
Through fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit can transform your life.
Pray for the spiritual and physical needs of members in your family.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITY: Prepare a nice “last supper” meal with your family and have a foot washing ceremony.
John 13:2-5 (NIV) "The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him."
Before washing each others feet, have representatives in your family read the excerpt from John.
